  2. I have moved too many times to count. One year I moved every month with my Kindergarten students. That was the worst! I have been at my current school 20 years and have moved 7 times. W-a-y too many!

  3. Hello!
I’ve been teaching in my current school for 15 years.
I have physically moved classrooms 4 times.
I have taught grades 4-6 and my ABSOLUTE favorite grade would be 6th grade! In my district, our elementary building is K-6 so they are “Big man on campus” and I LOVE this age!
I LOVE seeing them grow both physically, emotionally, and academically throughout the year. I especially like that fact that I can joke with them and they get my jokes 🙂

  4. 5 years at my current school, moved classrooms 15 times in 33 years, and 2nd grade is best. They’re old enough to wipe their own noses and tie their own shoes, but too young for hormones. High stakes testing doesn’t kick in as seriously until 3rd, which also makes a difference. Ironically, I only taught 2nd for 2 years!

  5. 1. 3 years
    2. 5 times
    3. 5th grade because they have a lot of opinions and they love to share them. Also because I learn a lot from them .

  6. 1. This coming year will be my second year of teaching
    2. Haven’t had to move yet
    3. Middle school ages. They are fun to be around, can joke around with them, and have some great conversations.

  11. I have been at my current school for the past 6 years, will be starting year 7 this year. I have moved classrooms but have had subjects added 3 times. I just love teaching middle schoolers because they are becoming more independent and can advocate for themselves more than elementary students do.

  12. This will be my 2nd year. I have not had to move classrooms, yet! I have only taught 3rd grade and I love this age group. The students still want to please and give hugs, however they are still independent to take care of themselves.

  13. 1. I have been teaching 5 years in current classroom.

  24. I love second grade! They are in a huge transition stage. Even though their struggles can be frustrating, the light bulb moments and the realization of their own growth is so worth it

  25. After 20 years of teaching I switched positions. I used to teach 4th grade and now I teach

  26. 1. I have taught for 6 years, grades 3-5 during that time.
    2. I have moved classrooms 5 times through my 6 years (my husband just loves moving all my teaching crap… I mean necessary resources ;).

  27. I’ve been teaching at my current school for a couple years. It’s hard to keep track of honestly. I started as a long-term substitute and then got hired mid-year as the second library media specialist. I love what I do and am thankful for the turn of events that got me here!

  78. I have always taught First Grade and First is the BEST grade because

  135. 2nd grade! They are still little enough to be excited about learning, have silly stories to share, and give you endless notes and pictures to brighten any day! But at the same time, they are old enough to study interesting topics, work independently at times, and (most) tie their own shoes!
