Wrapping Up With Red

Our Red, White, and Blue Week giveaway here at the blog is in its final days! So far this week, we’ve pondered the colors of blue and white, so today the color red is up for conversation! A few years back, when I was in need of a different car, a car salesman tried to sell me a bright red car. And you know what I said? “I don’t think I’m a red car person!” The look on this guy’s face was total confusion. I was a bit perplexed by my response too. I wear red. In my younger days, I even rocked a pair of red shoes! And yet I was pretty sure this red car wasn’t a good fit. Pretty weird, huh? Though I do recall a rumor that drivers of red cars receive more tickets than those of us who drive, say, navy blue cars. 🙂 Maybe I did know what I was talkin’ about!

Okay, here’s today’s colorful question! Feel free to share your thoughts about the color red as well!

What red item might you buy in preparation for the new school year?

Cheerfully,
Diane

  4. Our school color is red, so I will be purchasing red paint, construction paper, red folders, etc. Gotta have school spirit! 😉

  5. I was thinking the other day of buying something “red” to wear for the first day of school. I have heard wearing red makes you look more powerful. I thought I would give it a try! 🙂

  6. I like the color red and have always wanted the red car! haha I will be purchasing red apple stuff for fall themes. Of course red supplies like markers, crayons, stamp pads, etc. This is making me excited to get back into the swing of things! 🙂

  7. The one red item I would want for my kids is a set of all their supplies in a red color….yes you read it right I would be that crazy person out there trying to match a red notebook to a red folder to the red scissors to the red pencil to a red backpack.

But I most likely would love to get my boys this old fashion red baseball cap that is red with some old baseball team name. When I look at my boys I see a child actor from an Andy Griffith t.v. with the baseball cap on and cute goofy grin. My daughter would be the first day of school outfit. She would love me to make a red A-lined dress with a red hair bow and some red sparkly shoes……

  8. I will purchase red fabric for my bulletin board and extra red folders for the students who do not bring them in or if anyone loses their red folder!

  9. The one thing that I will display is “RED” apples and than all of the other colors of apples. Clifford the Big RED dog. RED paper to make apples, red dog, and other paper projects that will go with our Welcome Back School Year.

  10. The red items I would want for our students would be, crayola red crayons, markers, paper, paint, and glitter. Also on the first day back to school I would wear red, being a bright color, to help me stay cool!

  11. Red folders, pens, and expo markers!. I color cordinate my subjects. When my schedule is put up on the board I write the subject in a specific color and that also tells the students which folder they need. It makes organization a snap!!!

  12. A red stapler so that I can locate it in the room easily and, since most people have black staplers in my building, people will know to return the red one to me!

  13. Red crayons! Do you know how hard it is for Kindergarteners to find red? With all the variations, it’s just easier to have a box of red crayons!

  14. I am switching grade levels so I will need new teacher resources and I am sure to find one that has a red cover. I will need to buy red journals for daily writing and folders to take homework. Then for my jungle theme for the school year I will need red paper to make flowers, birds, and snakes.

  15. Red folders for math/language arts and science/social studies journals. Our school colors are red and black.

  16. Red is my favorite color and is my school’s dominant school color so it is used in the classroom constantly. I tend to purchase red accessories and write using red markers in the classroom.
