Wild About Learning

One of my many eye-opening memories from teaching is how each school year I learned more about teaching, discipline, communicating with parents, and so on than I knew the year before. And I didn’t even change grade levels! But as you know each school year brings a new group of students and parents, changes in the curriculum, school policies, and so on.

I’m curious about the new learning you’ll take back to school with you in August!

Always interested!

  1. I agree that I learn more every year and that every year is a different learning experience. Some years the learning is easier than other years, but…on the harder years I think I gain more intense learning. This learning enables me to have an easier time in other years. So every year is my favorite year until the next year. This learning is one of the reasons I love my job. All of the change and excitement I receive from students, families, peers and administration and also new curriculums. 😀

  2. I am attending a workshop this week hosted by the AZ Historical Society. They are/will be showing us how to connect science and social studies into the ELA and common core math standards. Today was day 1 of 5, but I enjoyed every minute of it! I can’t wait to see what’s in store for us the rest of the week! 🙂

  3. I agree with the above comment. I like when I am presented with new challenges, it makes me look for solutions through many different resources.

  4. I started looking through my old Mailbox September magazines, planning for next year, as I sat in the doctor’s waiting room on the last day of school. I’m going to a Marzano 2-day workshop in August – I’ve heard great things about Marzano’s techniques!
