What’s for Lunch?

For lunch today, I’m going to do my usual half sandwich with cheese, turkey, and avocado. I might get some chips from the vending machine because sometimes you just need something crunchy to go with your sandwich. It all depends on whether I can scrounge enough change from the bottom of my purse (or mooch enough change from my coworkers).

And speaking of lunch, click here for a fun letter recognition activity to use with Denise Fleming’s classic picture book, Lunch. It will take less than a minute and a half to listen to. Plus it’s a low-prep activity. Enjoy!

Reply to this blog and tell me what you’re having for lunch today. I’m always looking for better lunch options!

  1. Cottage cheese double and an orange. Same thing everyday. I hate thinking about lunch until lunch time so I just eat the same thing daily. Thanks for the activity

  2. My Lunch: tuna fish rolled in a lettuce leaf. My kindergartners eat lunch in the classroom, and I love to tease them: “I’ll sit by YOU today while I eat my lunch! Do you like the smell of tuna fish?” A good laugh is had by all.
