  1. I don’t deal well with change, but I checked it out – I was scared for a second cause I was not sure how to find back issues of magazine extras, but I figured it out pretty quick, and it’s actually cool! Very organized and easier to find what you need quick! thanks!!!

  2. I’m not going to lie: When I read your post I was scared and ready to tell you what I thought, but I took the time to check out the site and I am pleased. The only thing I had a hard time finding and had to search for were The Yearbooks.

  3. thanks for your reply, your magazine is our number one reference in our activity magazine, we already ordered the 2009 and 2010 year book.i hope we receive it soon.keep up the good work mailbox team.

  4. Like it.However, the background color makes it a little
more difficult to read the print. Perhaps more of a contrast would help. Thanks so much for all you do to assist teachers!

  5. I like it, but I wish we could choose if we could see the titles of the blogs (or pick which ones we want to see) on our page, and not just the links to each blog.

  6. I got this message first “The application encountered an error. “and needed to refresh my browser before seeing the site. I logged on and haven’t noticed the My mailbox before where I can file activities to use later. It isn’t quite as user friendly as the drop down menu was before. Although the background is white, there is a lot of “noise” going on and it took time to find what I was looking for.

  7. ok i like the web site and love the blog and love you on facebook to keep me up to date
thanks for all hard work !!

  8. I love the colors of the new website. I’m still trying to figure out the new layout but I think once I get used to it, it will be great! Thanks for making the best resources for teachers!

  9. I’m sorry, but I have to say that I don’t love it…I’m not even sure if I like it! I don’t find it user friendly and I still have not been able to figure out how to find past issues! All I can find is the current Dec/Jan issue.

  10. I think that Mailbox Magazine has made tremendous strides, however there is much work to do in order to make this a 21st Century Tool for teachers.
    Good Luck!

  11. I’m not sure. I was a little overwhelmed and didn’t know where to find everything. I liked looking back at the past Mailbox books to find and print off ideas and papers. Now you only go back a few months. I liked it when I could go back to last year and see what you had in the Oct/Nov. 2009 magazine to see if there was something I forgot about. I too have had some problems trying to get on to the Companion website.
I don’t mind that you’re trying to work on new “ideas”, but don’t take away the old ones that everyone loved.

  12. I agree with Tammy – I’m a fan of looking at the past issues on-line. Also, I think you have some navigation issues. Thank you for listening to us.

  13. Just spent a few minutes browsing the new design and felt it was easy to use. This was the first time I tried saving files to my own personal filing cabinet and I loved it…it was super easy and fun! Now I know I can go back anytime and find the ideas that I liked and easily retrieve them to use in the future. It will definitely take some time exploring the new site to see all of the features, but I actually enjoyed it. I would agree with others that have commented that it would be nice to be able to browse back through previous Mailbox magazine editions, at least as far back as the previous year. All-in-all…I love it!

  14. I like the new look for the Mailbox. I get so many useful ideas for my classroom from centers to projects of any kind. Thank you so much.

  15. I have to agree with one of the other comments – I don’t find it easy to navigate. I can’t find many things that I have come to depend on. Hopefully, you come up with a way to explain things to us.

  16. I love the mailbox for my 14 educators, but this new website is not user friendly. I liked the old website sooooooooooooooooooooooo much better. I am really disappointed and extremely frustrated. How do I find the December 2010 calendar????

  17. I am enjoying the new look of the website. The first time I checked it out, I didn’t have much time so I was eager to take another look. It took a little bit to get use to the new navigation, but I think I’ll like it much better than the old design.

  18. When I first navigated the website, I had a difficult time understanding where everything was located. I have a mixed reaction to the website. I think if I had more time to sit down and explore it, I would like it. However, at a moments notice (when I was trying to find something in a hurry)I was very frustrated.

  19. I like the old version better. The priority links before were for teacher use to find resources. Now you have to go to another link to get to those links. It seems to me that the priority now is more on selling/advertising. If we are on the website we are already happy customers who look for your products when we need them. Some advertising is good but I liked the old version that was teacher and resource friendly. Having past issues available is also key since we all don’t teach everything at the same time or needs changes throughout the year.
    Thanks!

  20. I know that I missed that deadline for the give away but, I just wanted to put my ‘two cents’ in…lol. I have been having trouble navigating the new layout, too. I think that is why I missed the deadline for this blog. I check the site each AM while having coffee and then in the PM. I am not clearly understanding where to find everything and I must say that I liked having the blog topics listed right on the main page from the old layout. I just feel it was a more frienldy version and time saving…which I personally am all about. But, guess I will need to spend more time working my way through the new layout and trying to figure out where everything is…just need to find the time. BUT, I still do love the Mailbox…..just not wild about the new layout….sorry!

  21. I have had time to visit the updated mailbox website. It is very difficult to navigate. I tried to find a past month’s planning pages and all the website brought up was the current month and to see a future month you had to scroll down on the same page. The new website makes your customers click many times before he/she finds anything. It becomes very frustrating and you lose a lot of time searching for something that may or may not be there. Also, I have to say I do not like the new way your pdf’s for planning pages are presented. For those of us who have a paid subscription it is a real let down that we are unable to save the pdf’s to our own computers. I hope you reconsider how these are presented. It’s a shame to pay for something, you can’t access all the time. I have just now revisited the site again and now I can’t even find previous issues that have been paid for. Unfortunately, I do not have $59.95 to pay for the MY Mailbox Premium. I know I am only one customer but perhaps a wise decision would be to let your subscription customers have 3-6 months of the Premium to make up for the loss of materials online. Thanks for reading my reply. Michelle

  22. I did find a broken/incorrect link and realize if someone else clicked it and didn’t realize it was just misdirected, they would easily get frustrated.

I do think you are on the right track as I can see where/how you were thinking when it comes to reorganization of the information.

Example: I typed up my November calendar and started the December one and needed to locate it quickly (as another poster did as well) Anyway, I simply scrolled down to mid-page and clicked on “more forms” because the “form” photo has a misdirected link. Once on the “more forms” page, I put “december calendar” in the search and there it was. IF I WOULD NOT have put it in the search, I would have had to scroll through a few pages. THAT is the ONLY thing I personally saw could be arranged differently, maybe grouping forms together or alphabetically?

Personally, not having a store within less than an hour’s drive from me, I LIKE having the little ads and promotions on the page…it let’s me know what is new and fresh (I mean, don’t we all like new ideas?!!).

Is there a ‘site search engine’? Maybe that would help until everyone gets used to where to find things?

Change is always hard, but as long as teachers know/feel you are listening, the trust is there and will grow.
Thanks for all you do for us.
