  1. My favorite trait my mother has is that she is the most caring and giving person I know. She’s always there to lend a hand to family and friends. I guess that’s two traits! 🙂

  2. There are so many, it’s hard to choose. My favorite is that she has given me the excitement to learn new things about the world we live in from art to nature to our inner selves!

  3. I would have to say her undying love and dedication to her job. She was a school teacher for over 35 years and she still misses it today. Maybe that’s why I became a teacher too! She instilled strength and determination to both my sister and I and constantly reassured us that we can do anything we put our hearts into.

  4. My favorite trait about my mother is she loved me no matter how much I may have disappointed her. She is/was always there for me, even though we live 750 miles apart.

  5. The way she made everyone feel like they were her friend! She never met a stranger and would talk to everyone! She always smiled and love to hug!

  6. My Mom has always been my biggest fan. No matter what I do she encourages me. No matter what even at 84 my Mom is always there for me to cheer me on or to cheer me up.
    I love my MOM.

  7. My mom unexpectedly passed away the Monday before Thanksgiving, so it has been incredibly hard to deal with, and I’m usually a very strong person. I couldn’t figure out why this seemed so much harder than when my dad passed away 4 yrs ago. I decided that when I feel like the whole world has let me down, my mom was always there.

  8. My favorite traits of my mother was loving and caring for me.. She loved me so that she went back to work so I could go to college and become a teacher.

  9. My mom was a stay at home mom. She was always involved in any school event we were involved in. My friends loved my mom because she was always there. As a kid I was bothered by mom always being there, but as an adult I now know how important and how great it was to have her there all those years. We have talked about this and we laughed, she knew I didn’t want her there then and knew some day I would understand. Pay back was I did the same thing to my own children and they now understand what I was doing, with that I hope some day they can pay it back to their children.

  10. My mother has so many wonderful traits…it’s hard to choose just one. But if it comes down to my favorite….it would be her willingness to skype with my firsties EVERY day to read books and take AR tests! Yep…across the internet, she is able to help encourage and support the firsties in my room to develop into confident readers with expression, fluency, and comprehension skills. THANKS, Mom!

  11. My Mom is awesome because she is always there for me. She listens, encourages and has always made me and my family feel we can reach any dream. My Mom is my best friend. The best anyone could ask for!

  12. I was so lucky that my mom was a teacher and for my first year of teaching we were teaching in the same building next door to each other. She taught a combination 1st and 2nd grade and I taught a first grade class. We were able to do some team teaching with our reading groups and I taught music for both classes because we had no music teacher then. It was great having her as my mentor that first year and I learned so much about classroom management and the first grade curriculum from her!

  13. My mom was my biggest supporter and cheerleader. She was a strong supporter of education. She loved learning and always made it fun and exciting when I was little. She should have been a teacher, but ended up as a HS secretary. She knew how important building relationships were and kept in contact with some of the HS students years after she retired and they had graduated. She spent most of her life caring and giving to others. One year she made special Teacher Appreciation gift bags for every teacher in my school! She passed away four years ago. But I know she is always with me still cheering me on.

  14. My mother loves me no matter what! I was not an easy child and yet she is still tells me as much as possible that she loves me!

  15. My favorite trait about my mom is her loving, supportive nature. When I called and told her I was VERY unexpectedly pregnant and going to have a baby right then (I was 38 weeks and didnt know until then) she rushed to be by my side and told my husband and I it would all be ok and stayed with us until my daughter was born a few hours later. When I had to go back to work she immediately said she wpukd keep my daughter for me. She is very giving to the whole family even at her own expense. She has always acted like a second mom to all of my friends. As I celebrate my 1st mother’s day this year I appreciate her that much more! I love her with all my heart! She is my best friend! Happy Mothers Day Ya’ll!

  16. My favorite trait of my mom was the way she could do everything and make it look easy. She worked full time, I had 3 siblings and then when I was a teenager my parents adopted 2 little boys. My dad was very old fashioned and hands off to housework and raising kids so my Mom did it ALL. Working full time and having two kids and a husband that helps, I am amazed at all she accomplished.

  17. My favorite trait of my mom is her unconditional love. Having five kids she had to have a lot of love to go around and she always had more than enough for all of us. No matter what we do or say she loves us just because we are her children. She would do anything for any of the five of us and still would to this day.

  18. My mom was dedicated to her family. She loved her siblings , her children, her spouse, her nieces and nephews, her great nieces and nephews and her grandchildren. She was a very shy and unassuming person but she was truly excited about each and every little accomplishment made by any family member. She was always so proud and celebrated everyone. We all know that even though she is not here on earth with us any longer, she is there, in the audience, at the graduation, christening or birthday, quietly smiling and just being proud.

  19. My favorite trait of my mom was her ability to make incredible things out of seemingly insignificant things. She was always “recycling” and creating thoughtful gifts for those around her. We did not have a lot of money growing up, but she had a way of making anything fun and an adventure.

Plumbers have been at our school the last couple of days to replace a water heater that impacts my self-contained classroom. It was a difficult job because the water heater was installed about ten feet above the floor. (((I had never seen such a thing before.))) My assistants and I wanted to show our appreciation so we took toilet paper rolls and painted them white, added a bottom, hole punched a hole near the bottom and inserted the bendy part of a straw, filled with lifesavers, added our school name and thanks on blue tape…and then gave them the mini-water heaters.

For me, I know that was mom-inspired. I cannot give her any other gift since she passed away last year.

  20. She makes me laugh and is my biggest cheerleader no matter what. She’s my best friend and I don’t know what I’d do without her!

  21. My favorite trait of my mom is her strength. She has always been there for my sister and I. Both times that my brother-in-law was deployed overseas, she jumped right in and helped out with housework at my sister’s house and also helped with babysitting my niece and nephew. When my home was broken into, she came right over and helped with cleaning up.
    I just love her strength!

  22. My favorite trait about my mom is that she helps everyone in need. She loves spending time with her family!

  23. My favorite trait for my mom was that she was a good listener. She didn’t have to give me solutions to my problems but she would always be there to laugh at what I had to say or just listen.
