Today’s Forecast? Fossils!

Blog-TRexWhy did the T. rex need a bandage? He had a “dino-sore”! What better way to begin the day than with a dinosaur joke, especially since today, October 14, is National Fossil Day! National Fossil Day is a celebration organized by the National Park Service to promote public awareness of fossils and their scientific and educational values.

The National Park Service and its partners have provided a bedrock of fossil-related activities for all ages. You can find art projects; reading, writing, and math activities; science explorations; and more that explore fossils just by clicking here. There’s even a Paleontologist Program for juniors. Find out about the program and download the Junior Paleontologist Activity Booklet here. And, of course, these activities are appropriate for any time of year, not only today. So dig in and have some fun with fossils!

Rock on!

Diane
