How many of you use a timer of some sort to manage your classroom? I used mini sand timers. I had one that ran for three minutes and a second option that ran for five minutes. My students loved them so much they actually played with them during free time! I think there’s something incredibly soothing about watching the sand trickle through the glass. Being curious, I looked up “timers” the other day online. There are oodles of really awesome options that will keep your students motivated! I thought those shown below seemed particularly fun. (I kind of want them all for my desktop.)

I use timers quite often. I have sand timers, stopwatches, and also use the online-stopwatch timers available at http://www.online-stopwatch.com/timer/.

I love timers…in fact I just bought several on clearance this week. I use timeme.com a lot. It’s a tad boring but useful in keeping us on track!
I love to use timers for the “popular” toys. Each child can play with the toy for the allotted time. It’s amazing how easily they give up the prized toy when the timer tells them to. I
I have only used the old kitchen timer but after seeing these cool timers and realizing how much they could add to my childcare setting – I think the next time I have money to purchase new things for the daycare I will be buying some of these! cool!
