Summer Learning

Imagine removing your shoes and traipsing through a patch of lush, green grass. Now imagine a summer filled with reading, writing, and arithmetic. I can speak only for myself when I say my vote goes
to carefree tootsies. But wait a minute—summer learning doesn’t automatically make summer a bummer!

The National Summer Learning Association has put together an awesome parent resource of summer learning opportunities that are fun and free. Topics include “Summer Learning at Home: Ideas for Parents”; “Keeping Your Child Active and Healthy During the Summer”; and “Summer Reading Tips for Parents.”

Check it out! This could be the summer learning resource you’ll want to share with your students’ families. Also, if you know of other worthy resources for keeping students learning and practicing essential skills throughout the summer, please share.

Let’s keep summer learning fun!
