Stew Update

Have you checked out our “Modifying Instruction” stew? It’s simmering away with great tips and ideas! Be sure to have a look. And if you’d like to contribute, remember that today is the final day to comment and have your name entered in our gift certificate giveaway.

Okay, I must share one more update. It’s a follow-up to the July post “Excuses, Excuses” in which I suspected my happy-go-lucky pooch, Lexie, of either eating or successfully stashing my much-needed mouth guard. Well, the case is closed. This morning Miss Lexie proudly deposited a soil-encrusted mouth guard at my feet. Clearly she’d been playing her own little game of Hide-and-Seek. Too bad I’ve already begun playing another game called Paying Off the Dentist. 🙂

Have a great day! Have you headed back to the classroom yet?

Smiles,
Diane

  1. That is too funny. My wonderful dog Bella is always hiding things she claims as her toys.

Classes have not started yet but I have been working in my classroom. 3 bulletin boards down and 2 more to go. Posters are back on my walls and my monkeys are up.

I like to be as prepared as I can be before the kids start. Thanks to mailbox I will be ready with some new ideas. Thanks.

  2. We start our new classes on Monday. However we have been here all summer. Have you ever tried to get a classroom ready with 14-16 4 year olds in the classroom with you? No wonder my bulletin boards are crooked.

  3. Hi to all! I have been frantically looking for a worksheet that was published in a Mailbox issue. It is on research skills called “Off the Shell-f.” It has a turtle shell as the background and has the students search through informational texts to find certain parts (index, captions, table of contents, etc.) Does anyone know what issue that was in so I can search the archives at my school?

Hope everyone’s school year is going great!

    Anne

  4. Anne, the page you’re looking for is from the August/September 2008 issue of Bookbag magazine, page 31. Thanks to Hope and Sherry for helping me find it!
