SMART!

Would you be interested in some free earth-friendly resources? I hear ya! Well, have I got a deal for you! The Mailbox, in collaboration with the Secondary Materials and Recycled Textiles Association (SMART) is providing free activities for grades K–2 and 3–5, a fact sheet, a parent send-home letter, a student poster contest, an infographic, and a chance to win a $500 classroom grant or one of five $100 grants. Awesome!

Learning about SMART has broadened my understanding of recycling. For example, I had no idea that recycled denim becomes home insulation, recycled woolen sweaters become baseball and softball filling, and leftover fabric scraps become paper money! Just think, you could be carrying a dollar bill made from fabric worn by, say, George Clooney! 🙂

Just click on this link: www.themailbox.com/smart. Check it out and let me know what you think!

Go green!
