Shifting Into Summer

Have you had the chance to slow down and smell the roses since school let out? I’m guessing everyone’s transition into summer happens differently. When I take a vacation, it usually takes a few days for me to shift into vacation gear. But that’s not always the case. For example, a friend and I took a jaunt to the mountains last summer. I was exhausted when we arrived and decided to take a short nap before we headed out to dinner. I awoke at 7:00 the following morning! I clearly had no trouble slowing down that time!

How’s your shift into summer going? Do you have a fun story to share?

Thinking of you,
Diane

  1. Our shift here in Minot, North Dakota, has been…crazy with the rising river causing evacuations and careful vigilance for evacuations again.( School got out on May 27. By the following Tuesday, the Mouse River was causing problems.) I was supposed to teach a special summer school class but all elementary summer classes were canceled for the summer due to ongoing concern throughout the city about the river. Hopefully..July will be restful and dry!

I did get to take an awesome Google Apps workshop last week with Google experts for our instructors. Lots of great ideas and ways to use Google!

  2. Tuesday was my last day, so no, I haven’t shifted into summer mode yet. More like it’s a long weekend.
But…soon. As soon as we take our first summer trip.

  3. I know its summer simply because I am now having trouble remembering the date. LOL. I am relaxing with my dog lots of walking this summer. I still work throughout the summer with meetings with the board of the preschool.

  4. My Dad passed away just as the school year was coming to a close so I took another trip to Minnesota (I had been there in April celebrating my Mother’s 80th birthday withfriends and family and seeing my Dad for what would be the last time). What struck me was that the day I got back to work how happy the kids were to see me… Children do really help a hurting heart even when they have no idea what is going on.
