few weeks back, I visited an elementary school that was in the throws of school spirit week. I didn’t think to ask in advance about festivities for the day. If I had, I would have worn a hat! There were sport caps, cowboy hats, Dr. Seuss hats, straw hats, beanies, bucket hats, berets, and more. It was a sight to see! And learning was clearly taking place. If I hadn’t been told otherwise, I would have assumed it was Thinking Cap Day!
This visit got my wheels churning, and now I’ve started a list of School Spirit Days. Do you celebrate any of these? Do you have more ideas to add to the list?

Crazy Hair Day, Twin Day, Pajama Day, and 50’s day!
We have Pajama Day and Career Day.
We always have a spirit week the second week in may and some of our themes have been, cowboy day,hawiian day, crazy hair, crazy hat, pajama day , princess and super heros, and we are always looking for new ideas to add thanks
We have pajama day, sports day, western day, teddy bear day, hat day, crazy socks day, Hawaiian Day on the last day of school, Make-up-your-own-Holiday (each class chooses a day, my kindergartners usually choose princess and dragon day).
We do silly sock day too.
We have crazy sock day! That is a lot of fun.
This past spring our favorite spirit days were Pajama Day and Favorite Cartoon Character Day.
We have crazy hair day, crazy shirt and sock day, Camo Day, College Day. It is fun to help celebrate and inspire kids to be different! 🙂

Red Sock Day (during Red Ribbon Week)
Western Day (dress like a cowboy one day during Texas Public Schools Week)
College Day (wear your favorite college t-shirt)
Favorite Team T-shirt (wear your favorite college or professional sports team shirt)
Career Day (what you want to be when you grow up)
Literature Day (dress as your favorite book character)
We do pajama day, insideout day, backyard olympics, and will probably add to the list this summer in that it really did help the time pass and both the kids and the staff enjoyed the time.
