I don’t know about you, but when I read that something is ready-to-use, the corners of my mouth start to creep upward into a smile. The less prep time needed, the more gleeful I feel. I’m guessing you feel similarly?
Did you know The Mailbox magazine includes ready-to-use items? Of course there’s always the easy-to-spot centerfold, which is a fun surprise! Each issue has other ready-to-use stuff too. To prove my point, I’ve planned a little giveaway! Grab your copy of The Mailbox October/November 2010 magazine and count the total number of ready-to-use items inside. Send us the correct count and you’ll be entered in a drawing to win a $20 gift certificate to The Mailbox. Be sure to name the grade level of your magazine (preschool, grade K, grade 1, grades 2-3, or intermediate) when you submit your count.
Now, here’s how I define ready-to-use: 1) I can use it right now, straight from the magazine, without doing anything extra. 2) I can make copies and use it right now. 3) I can pull it out of my magazine and put it in front of students for them to use right now!
Happy counting!
Diane
PS: One more tiny detail! 🙂 We need to hear from you before the end of Sunday, September 12!
🙁 I didn’t get my new issue yet!!! *boo-hoo!*
I think 20 activities. This was difficult. I have counted 10 more activities that might be counted, but you have to do a little extra, so I did not count them (But if you did it woudl total 30). Was a little confused. Hope I guessed right! Thank you for making me take time to actually read my Mailbox cover to cover. I usually glance at it and pull a couple of things, knowing that there are tons of things I am missing. But my hectic life stops me from getting all the goodies I could from it.
Thanks again!

I love your magazines. If I have counted right there are 20 ready to use activities. Love them all.I use the preschool magazine. Thanks for all the great ideas.
My issue of the PRESCHOOL Oct/Nov issue arrived before my September issue??? I counted 22. . . I counted song pages as one thing that could be copied and I caounted each pull out page as one thing???
Also wanted to comment that I Love the site words!! I have two Pre-K’s that will go to K next Fall, this wil really help them to get ready 🙂 Keep up the good work!
I counted 20 ready made items although I agree with others who responded that some items may be used in more than 1 ready more activity.
I counted 20 and I your preschool magazine! It’s something I always look forward to getting in the mail. Thanks!
I counted 21 ready to use activities in the Kindergarten Issue. Thank you for all the great ideas!!
So… what was the answer? 🙂
The counts are in! I would have had them yesterday, but my dog ate my tallies! (Just kidding!) I agree with Cheryl: this was difficult and at the same time very inspiring. These magazines are packed with great ideas! Okay, here’s what I came up with. I can’t say these counts are 100% accurate, but they’re close!
Preschool: 19
Grade K: 33
Grade 1: 33
Grades 2-3: 31
