Wow, I want to be in your classrooms this Thanksgiving! đ Yâall served up a big ole feast of Thanksgiving ideas (see âGobble, Gobble Giveaway!â). Thank you so much for sharing!
Are you ready for dessert? Your comments got me thinking about Thanksgiving books. Cheryl gave us the title of a book that is a royal hootâTurkey Trouble by Wendi Silvano. Iâm pretty sure each of you has a favorite Thanksgiving book too. So how about making a dessert menu of favorite Thanksgiving read-alouds! Are you in?
Iâll start the list with a couple of my faves and leave the rest up to you! Gobble, gobble!
Happily,
Diane
- âTwas the Night Before Thanksgiving by Dav Pilkey
What can I say? I have a serious funny bone! đ - T Is for Turkey by Tanya Lee Stone
A superb Thanksgiving-themed alphabet book. The rhyming text might even inspire a holiday program!
This Is the Turkey by Abby Levine. But my all time favorite for Thanksgiving reading is The Doorbell Rang. After all, it’s about sharing and friends and family.
Some of my favorites for this time of year are: I Know an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Pie, ‘Twas the Night Before Thanksgiving, Sometimes It’s Turkey–Sometimes It’s Feathers, Why We Have Thanksgiving, and I also really like to use one that I printed out online, Pilgrim, Pilgrim, What Do You See?
I always read Millie and the Macy’s Parade since that is my favorite part of Thanksgiving. Then the students draw a float they would like to see in the parade.
Arthur’s Thanksgiving by Marc Brown is one of my favorite Thanksgiving books to read.
