Playing Santa

For many people December is the season for Santa Claus. But one of the great things about my job is that I get to play Santa Claus all year long! Every week on our blog we give away prizes to teachers, and every issue of Learning magazine includes thousands of dollars in giveaways especially for teachers. What could be more fun?

I have just one chance left to play Santa before Christmas. Submit an answer to the question below by midnight EST on Friday, December 31, 2010. I’ll draw one random winner to receive a prize pack of assorted teacher resources. Here’s the question:

If a teacher had named Santa’s reindeer, what would their names be?

You only have to submit one reindeer name to be entered in our drawing, though you’re welcome to submit more if you’d like. I’m thinking perhaps the names Whiteboard, STEM, and What-do-you-mean-that-funding-has-been-cut? are going to be on the list this year. There’s still time to submit a comment on our last blog post too for a chance to win the Book Lover’s Calendar for 2011 from Workman Publishing. Click here now! (Update: Congratulations to Debbie P., who is our winner!)

In other contest news, we’ve just posted our latest contests, prizes, and fun offers at LearningMagazine.com. Here are just a few of the newest prizes:

  • The Very Hungry Caterpillar poster from Penguin
  • set of Bare Books from Treetop Publishing
  • WhisperPhone Element from WhisperPhone
  • package of flower bulbs from Dutch Mill Bulbs
  • Getting Ready to Read With Mother Goose Prize Pack from Sadlier

And that’s just for starters. There are dozens of other prizes too. Ready to enter? Click here now!

I’m packing my sleigh, so submit those blog comments right away! Have fun!

Karen

  1. Patience, Fairness, Caring, Understanding, Supportive, Motivator, Friendly, and Fun would be the names for my reindeers! Happy Holidays!

  2. My names would be Reading, Writing, Math, Social Studies, Science, PE, Art, Music, Computer Lab,-these would all be easy to remember!

  3. I recommend Creativity, Fun and Learning, Ambition, Perseverance, Strategies, Curiosity, Self-Determination, Be the Best You Can Be, and Self-Initiation.

  4. You know tryer and laugher, explorer and thinker, jokester and climber, pretender and player. But do you recall, the most successful preschooler of all? Learner the preschool student!

  5. Cathy, are you sure you’re not one of Santa’s elves masquerading as a preschool teacher?!?! 🙂

  6. I am new to this site and tried the “click here now” link to enter this contest but I ended up somewhere not asking for my blog entry.
However, I believe that one would definitely be named perseverance.

  7. Here are a few teacher inspired reindeer names: Now Reader! Now Learner! Now, Writer and Pen! On Elmo! On, Beaker! On, Pencil and Smart!

  8. I can think of lots of names that could be used! Fun brain exercise after lots of sog time! Here are my tops
    1. Eager
    2. excited
    3. Smarty
    4. Encourager
    5. shy
    6. sleepy

I can think of some of my kids that fit all those names!
