Planning a Trip

I’m planning an international trip in October. I go through an interesting mix of emotions when planning a big trip, and this trip is crazier than others because Covid is thrown into the mix. If you could chart my highs and lows during planning, it would look something like this:

  1. Excitement!
  2. List making. So many lists!
  3. Tentative plans. Scrap tentative plans. Lots of googling.
  4. Horror at how much this will cost.
  5. Firmer plans. More googling.
  6. Brief interlude of panic.
  7. Excitement!

Making a plan, figuring out a budget, and coordinating flights, places to stay, and rental cars are real life skills our students should be exposed to. Here’s an activity sheet that will give students an introduction to trip planning. Enjoy!

  1. My husband and I are going on a traveling vacation for a couple of weeks. We travel a couple of times a year to different countries, but because of Covid-19 we couldn’t do it this year. We are planning and looking forward to our trip to Europe next year.
