Merry Monday!

Did you lose an hour’s sleep this weekend? Here in the Carolinas, we did. I know the time change is described as springing forward; however, I’ve yet to feel like springing anywhere after this timely change! How about you? Do you have any sleepyheads in your classroom today?

This week I’ve rounded up a few Irish proverbs to share. Here’s one for today. Let me know what you think!

Praise the young and they will blossom.

Smiles,

  1. I have always said that First Graders are like a flower. They enter all small and tiny from Kdgr. but they grow so much in knowledge during this year. So my theme is “Watch Your Child Bloom”

  2. While some appreciate the extra light at the end of the day, no one here seems to be thankful that we’re springing ahead! Won’t be long until we have 24 hours of light.

I work in a small rural Alaskan school and it was nice to see that while the MAO staff hadn’t gotten the cafeteria tables down for breakfast this morning that two of our students simply got the job done. On the other hand I have one 5th grader that is sleeping in my room during his morning gym time.

I think this Monday may seem longer than usual!

Praise the young and they will blossom. I like this Irish proverb.

  3. It was a very boring am. 4 kids did not show and the others seemed like they would like to sleep through the class.
    I like excitement on Mondays.

  4. Love your proverb thank you for sharing that. I have been trying to put proverbs for my fb status all week! Hope you don’t mind I am going to steal that one. Springing forward I think is much harder on us than on the kids.

  5. My kids seemed to have taken crazy pills before they got to class this morning. It was a horrible day all the way around. I’m so glad this Monday is over. 8 more days until Spring Break and I just can’t wait!

Love the proverb! Children are such a blessing.

  6. I love the proverb for today, this has been a year of struggles and victories and you have to celebrate the successes and persevere through the struggles. Thanks for the encouragement today.
