It’s Coming! It’s Coming!

Yes sirree, the end of the school year is coming! Yikes and yippees aside, teachers are well aware that wrapping up a school year isn’t a task for wimps. That’s why, over the next few weeks, I’ll be inviting you to share your insights into this special time of the year.

First up, let’s chat about end-of-the-school-year events.

What student-centered happenings are on your calendar for the end of the year?

Are you planning a showcase of student work or a year-end program for family members?

Or perhaps your group of students will be participating in an end-of-school graduation, picnic, or field day?

I’m eager to hear what you have planned. And for those of you who are repeating activities from previous years, feel free to share what you’ve learned and what, if anything, you plan to do differently this time around.

Ready to learn!

  1. We have gathered a year round special thematic activities to be sharedto families thru our showcase portfolios. After a month we will celebrate the kg 2 graduation full of songs and dances in our “stories from around the world” presentations.
We end our school by the end of May and then get ready again for our preparation for our school sponsored summer school in the afternoon (4-7 pm) . It is because here in Saudi Arabia , June is the start of hot summer.

  2. We have a graduation ceremony followed by a reception with graduation cake. The children showcase their knowledge during a 30-40 minutes ceremony. They are adorable in their little caps and gowns! Mommies and daddies beam with pride, grandparents glow, and aunts, uncles, and family friends all congratulate the young learner.

  3. Our pre-k classes will have a graduation ceremony. Before the ceremony begins, parents will get to see a slide show of photos that have been taken throughout the school year.

Students will write & draw about what they learned throughout the year, and we will post their work around the room where graduation will be held.

The ceremony will end with the students performing 2 songs about moving on to kindergarten. 🙂
