I’m not a gal who spends hours stirring pots atop the stove. I’m much more adept at tapping the touch screen on my microwave. Nonetheless, I thought I was fairly safety savvy in the kitchen. Not so much. My score on the 2013 Fire Prevention Week Quiz was a shocker. It was less than 50 percent!
This year’s Fire Prevention Week theme is “Prevent Kitchen Fires.” Yes, Fire Prevention Week is this week! And here’s the good news: the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) has a bunch of fun offerings for teachers and students—an app and e-book for you to download, interactive whiteboard lessons for preschool to grade 2 and grades 3 to 5, and printables—all for free! The NFPA says it best: Go to FPW.org and get cookin’ with fire safety!
Be safe!
Diane
PS: I just retook the quiz, and I feel much better. Here’s a hint for you—It’s Woodrow Wilson!
I got a 90! Thanks for the tip on Woodrow Wilson!!
I scored well too due to your hint. Thanks
I got 80%.
But I love Fire Safety Week, no one could Stop, Drop or Roll better than I. Some of my fondest memories of my elementary years.
