In just a little more than a week, many of us will place our hopes of an early spring on the forecast of an extremely furry fella with ridiculously long teeth. Honestly, except for the last few days, our winter has felt like spring. Our local groundhog could very well get a mouthful of daffodils when he pops out of his den! I don’t think I’m complaining. I hope I’m not. Yet there is a part of me that would LOVE to have several inches of snow blanket our community so I could be trapped inside my home with a marshmallow-topped cup of steaming hot chocolate, a fuzzy blanket, and a whopper of a mystery novel.
The weather is definitely out of our control, but preparing for Groundhog Day is not. Here’s a sampling of some groundhog-related activities that are sure to be well received by your kiddos. Clicking on a picture takes you to the related activity. Clicking HERE takes you to more Groundhog Day teaching resources.
Zero for us, but my fingers are crossed!
