How High Can We Go?

How many years have you been teaching?

I’ll be adding up the years as y’all leave your answers. I’m hoping we can reach 200, 300, or 400 or more total years of teaching! Wouldn’t that be the best?

  1. 89 years of total teaching between Kaila, Laura, Ellisa, Brandi, Charla! Let’s keep adding up the years. Oh, I have 9 years. That makes 98 total years!! Yahoo!

    Just heard from Raemi! We are now up to 111 years!

  2. I have been teaching at my current job for 24 years. I was at another teaching position before my children were born for 4 years and I taught part time while my children were little for 8 years. So I have 36 years in all!

  3. I have been teaching for 35 years, seventeen of those years as a Special Education Teacher and 18 as a First Grade Teacher.

  4. I taught elementary school for 32 years. When my children were small I taught preschool for 2 years. Now retired from elementary school I am again teaching preschool and loving it. Teaching is fun again. So in total I have been a teacher for 38 years and counting.

  5. I’ve been teaching 31 years, 24 years in first grade. I love teaching. It makes me feel great going to school each day. Thanks for your wonderful magazine. I loved receiving them in the mail each month and would get excited to see all the new worksheets and ideas that I could introduce to my students. I love that it all digital now. It makes my life easier knowing that the magazine is at my finger tips.

  6. This is my 5th year , just got tenure and teacher of the year for my school !!! Exciting and busy year !

  7. I have been teaching for 6 years. 5 years at an international school in Seoul and 1 year teaching English (as a 2nd language) in Asan, South Korea.

  8. This is my second full year but I had a year off in the middle that I worked at a daycare and as a longterm para.

  9. This is my 27th year of teaching….Of course, I was a child prodigy and started teaching when I was 12!!! (LOL) I still love working with children. They keep me young at heart!!

  10. I have been teaching in the early childhood field for 23 years. It never gets old! The children keep me young. No parent believes I have children that are 24 and 20 years old!

  11. I have been teaching preschool for 36 years now. The best part…I get to be four years old forever and enjoy art and music and books every day.

  12. This is my 11th year with a contract but my 20th year with the district. Talk about being a loyal substitute! I loved when they started retiring!

  13. Good morning y’all! I am pleased as punch to announce that 812 fabulous, fabulous years of teaching have been reported on this blog. You can check my math skills if you like. I did have to use my handy dandy calculator. 🙂

  14. This is my 26th year of teaching and my fourth state to teach in. It’s an adventure I hope to continue for awhile!

  15. This is my 10th year of teaching. I can’t believe I’ve been doing this for a decade. 🙂 It doesn’t feel that long

  16. I’ve taught for 24 years. Hard to believe. It’s gone by way too fast. I still love it and am still learning and trying to be better!
