  23. I would love to surprise one of our district’s displaced teachers with..Read a Long Round Up for grade 1. We are not sure when we will start school this year as we recently experienced a horrific flood. We lost 2 elementary schools, a middle school, a headstart building and more. Many of us lost our homes to the flood as well. My home had 7 feet of river water in it.
    12,000 people were evacuated on June 22.

    Many of our students will be living in neighborhoods they are unfamiliar with and may have to go to new schools. One of our elem. schools-saved by a dike-is in a flooded out neighborhood. There are no children/people living in those homes at his time. Our city is strong! We will get through this. But it would be fun to surprise one of my fellow teachers with a new book. Thanks!

  24. I am a teacher for our headstart program and we start back to school on August 22, I am excited of starting a new year. I am not sure which book I would like you have so many wonderful resource books for teachers and families. If I could ask for one book I would really like the yearly theme book. It would be a great resource book for our center for planning out our lesson plans.

I would love to have the Pocket Charts book (Grades K-1) since the children in my class absolutely love to use the pocket charts in our class as part of our center time! The children start school Sept. 7 while the staff “officially” starts Sept. 1! I’ll be back in school way before that getting the classroom ready!After 32 years of teaching I still can’t wait to get back! Thanks for this great contest! Happy summer! 🙂

  67. Cleveland County is adding Science Kit instruction(LASAR) for K-3 this year. I teach Second Grade and our kit will focus on Life Cycles. The Read, Listen, and Wonder Series–Set of Six books and C.D’s TEC18885 would go along great with this kit. I would use them in my Listening Center.

  69. In Baltimore County, Maryland, the kids return to school on August 29th. This year I’m not only switching schools, but I’m switching grades– moving down to 3rd grade. I’ve only taught 5th grade and one year of 4th. Most of the resources I have accumulated over the past 10 years are just too high for third grade, so I’m trying to build a collection of 3rd grade resources before school starts. I’d love the “Choose & Do Language Arts Grids” (grade 2-3). Sound like the perfect thing for “may dos” and differentiation.
