It’s that time of year when teachers (and parents) are ready to pull out their hair for one reason or another. If your kiddos’ attention spans and brain waves have been intercepted by the upcoming Christmas holiday, try this. Grab a bag of cotton balls and a glue stick. Then print a copy of the Santa mini poster for a fun and effective preholiday behavior incentive. Display the poster and announce your behavior expectations. Then each time an expectation is met, invite a student to add a cotton ball to Santa’s hat, beard, or mustache. When Santa is sufficiently fluffed out, reward the group with a popular privilege. If Santa can’t be part of your classroom decor, add snowy cotton-ball details to Frosty’s mini poster. Either way, your students are sure to stick to happy holiday behavior throughout the season! What’s your greatest December challenge? Please share!
Counting down to Christmas,

Over excitement combined with the kids being tired.
Everyone is ready for a break, so it is hard to keep everyone motivated.
My big December challenge is getting everyone to arrive on time for our Christmas play.
Trying to teach during this time with the children’s excitement and over zealment about the up coming events
