Good Morning, Inbox!

Each morning when I get to work, I plop down my work bag, log on to my computer, and quickly scan my email inbox to see whether there’s something I need to address right away. Does this sound like your morning routine too? In thinking about you, my brain took a leap, and you know what that means. I have a question for ya, and here it is with a giveaway!

What could be delivered to your inbox daily to brighten your teaching day? For example, would you enjoy an inspirational quote, an inspiring fact about teachers, a funny quote from a child, a wacky fact, a seasonal tip or idea? A combination of things? What might it be?

I’m excited to hear from you! Post your comment by the end of the day Thursday and your name will be put in a drawing for some March goodies from The Mailbox!

Thinking of you!
Diane

Congratulations to Wendy, the drawing winner!

  1. I would love a funny quote from a child, but I think a seasonal idea or reproducible for my grade level (or K-2) would be great too! I like in Mailbox magazines in the back of the issues are ideas from other teachers…getting that in my mailbox every morning would be helpful too. I often am searching for new ideas for math and behavior management.

    Happy March!

  2. I love getting tips and ideas from other teachers. I already look forward to “This Week in Teaching”. It’s my favorite email from the mailbox!! The only thing that would make it better is if it were “TODAY in Teaching” and I got it daily in my inbox. LOL

  3. inspirational quote, i think as i get lots of great ideas to my email box each day which i love but sometime we need to remember why we do this job and a little inspirament could be helpful

  4. I love all of the above!
I receive The Whisper of God.com to my inbox and I love the inspirational message. It brightens my day! I also love funny quotes to make me smile. A seasonal tip would help me plan my lessons and spark my creative side. So all of the above are wonderful!
    🙂

  5. I’d love to see a Time Filler Activity. Something simple, no prep, and spur of the moment that would be new and interesting to the children if I was in a situation that I needed to occupy some time.

  6. I would love to wake up and find any of them in my mail box just to start my day. It would be like what is it today.
I really like the idea of kid funnies because laughter is the way to start the day.

  7. I think a combination of all of them would be great! Maybe you could have a different thing each day, like an inspirational quote on Monday, a fact on Tuesday, etc.

  8. Something I would love to see in my inbox would be a daily reproducible that can be passed out to students if they have completed all of their work. Whether it be extra practice in language arts or something more challenging for more advanced students, it would be one less thing that would cut into instructional time.

  9. Yes, I’d love a short and sweet message each morning! Perhaps a corny joke to share with my kinders (they never get the jokes I tell!), a pick-me-up quote (I sure could have used one today!), a quick, fun, easy Time-Filler, hey, this is a great idea! I’m anxious to see what you decide.

  10. In the morning when I check my email I look forward to multiple things. An inspirational story or poem to begin my day is nice but I also love it when I open up my email and have received emails about free educational resources and worksheets that I can use with my students or share with their parents.

  11. I think any combination of these things would be great! Especially some insperational quotes or teacher tips or quick time filler reproducibles for unexpected gaps of time (when the students finished faster than expected).

  12. Checking my e-mail is one of the first things I do in the morning when I get to work. I would love to see some inspirational quotes or silly stories from students. It would also be fun to get wacky facts to incorporate into our daily routine to keep my students who are typically unmotivated interested in learning new things!

  13. I’m always looking for ‘info sheets’ for parents, and would love to see what The Mailbox could come up with. Especially during times like Dental Health Month, Reading Out Loud Day, Fire Safety Week.

I’d love to be able to put a simple flyer/handout in my child’s Daily Report for tips, safety information or activities that could be followed up at home!
