First Friday “yawaeviG”

Ho, ho, ho! I’m messing with you on this first Friday of December. Yes, “yawaeviG” spells Giveaway backward. And since it is the first Friday of the month, it is give, give, giveaway time here at The Mailbox Blog! I’m keeping this month’s question simple. There’s no need to add something complicated to your December to-do list!

To enter this month’s giveaway, share with us the name of a favorite holiday movie. I think this will be easy; however, now that I’m trying to decide, I’m stumped! Is it Miracle on 34th Street or Elf? Well, don’t overthink this—you can have more than one favorite! Just be sure to leave your answer(s) right here on the blog before midnight EST Thursday, December 12. Oh, and that giveaway prize? Well…it’s a surprise! 🙂

Ho, ho, ho!

Diane

Congratulations to Diane M., the winner of this month’s First Friday Giveaway!

  1. Happy Holidays everyone! I think National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation has to be my favorite. Between the parents over-staying, the tree with live animals in it, and the over-the-top light display, it’s a perfect movie. You can’t beat classic Chevy Chase~!

  2. A favorite in our house is ELF byt my favorite is It’s a Wonderful Life. But how can you not love Christmas Vacation, The Grinch, and the A Christmas Story marathon is always on during our family dinner at my aunt’s house.

  3. My favorite is “It’s a Wonderful Life” but I have really enjoyed some of the new Hallmark moves that have been on this year.

  4. My favorite has always been, and always will be, the original “Miracle on 34th Street!” However, I am also good with pretty much anything on Hallmark!! 🙂

  5. I have loved “A Christmas Story” since it first came out. I force my young adult children to watch it every Christmas season with their Dad and I. Love it!

  6. Wow! It’s hard to pick just one. I guess I would have to say that I never miss a chance to watch “Miracle on 34th St” as a classic. However, “It’s a Wonderful Life”, “Elf”, “Rudolph”, “Frosty” – they are all great!!!

  7. Miracle on 34th Street(black and white version) has always been my favorite. But another one of my faves is Hard Candy Christmas with Dolly Parton. Was one of my favorites with my dad.

  8. I love watching Santa Buddies with my son because of him it has become one of my new favorites. My favorite from when I was a child would have to be How The Grinch Stole Christmas.

  9. Can’t we have more than one?!! Holiday in Handcuffs I think is at the top, then the Grinch and A Charlie Brown Christmas, then I’d have to say Home Alone (1)……There are sooooo many.

  10. Happy Holidays !!!
Since I’ve become a parent, it is The Polar Express for sure ! We get out our “Believe” bells , make hot chocolate and all watch it every year ! Love it !

  11. I love all the Christmas movies and watch them every year, but one of my favorites that I believe to be underrated is the Muppets’ Christmas Carol. The narrators Gonzo and Rizzo are so cute and funny.

  12. My favorite has always been National Lampoons Christmas!! It’s not the typical Christmas movie, but it always gives me a good laugh!

  13. I have many, but a few are: The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, White Christmas, Elf, The Santa Claus, and a Family Home Entertainment movie called Jingle Bells!

  14. My favorite Christmas movie has always been “It’s A Wonderful Life!” The movie is filled with spirit, the kind of spirit that Jesus Christ gave each one of us. It has tragedy, sorrow, bitterness, kindness, love, generosity, sweetness, loyalty, and family all wrapped up with a bow. This movie is about LIVING!

  15. I LOVE most Christmas movies, but Nat’l Lampoon’s Christmas vacation, Muppet’s Christmas Carol, Charlie Brown, Nightmare before Christmas, and Scrooged are amongst a few of my favorites, but…I can go on and on!!

  16. I love “It’s A Wonderful Life”.. I watch it all year round! But i also love “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation”, “Home Alone” and the Santa Clause trilogy!

  17. I absolutely love It’s a Wonderful Life. I watch it all year. It never gets old.
“No man is a failure who has friends.”

  18. OMG. This is so hard. It has to be Frosty the Snowman. When my daughter was younger shevcouldn’t say the SN blend so the movie was called Frosty the Snowman. The moral of the story warms my heart

  19. My favorites each year are A Charlie Brown Christmas, A Christmas Carol, Disney’s Christmas Carol, Muppet’s Christmas Carol, and Scrooged (gotta love the Ghost of Christmas Present!!) 😀

  20. Right now- Elf.
But this is harder than you think! It’s a Wonderful Life on Christmas Eve. Loved Polar Express the book to read to my kids, but marginal on the movie. How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Ron Howard did such a great job with Jim Carrey. And Charlie Brown Christmas, when Linus gives his speech on stage in the spotlight, then I know Christmas is HERE!
    😉

  21. I love Miracle on 34th Street, but there are very few Christmas movies I don’t like. I enjoy the Hallmark movies and love all the Christmas ones I watch with my grand-kids, especially Frosty.

  22. I think Elf is the funniest Christmas movie ever, but it is not Christmas without National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation!

  23. I love a good holiday classic like “Rudolph” but will always sit down to watch the Santa Claus series with Tim Allen. 🙂

  24. The Christmas Story – one of my kindergartners actually got his tongue stuck on a pole this week! My own children watched this movie every year, laughing as if every scene was new to them, and remembering similar events in their own lives.

  25. I agree..too many to choose from. If I had to choose one, it would probably be “The Year Without a Santa Clause”. I love when Mrs. Claus says “Eat Pappa Eat”! 🙂
