  1. While all these mandates are wonderful, how are we supposed to implement them when our budgets have been cut by 70%???

  2. Since I am at a new building I would love a total run down of everything but would like to know what we are going to do about students that need additional help or services…what is our RTII process? Thanks so much for the question of the day:)

  3. Last year our school was a K-5 building, this year we are a 3-5 school. I would like to know if we are going to continue to do all of the fun things we did in years past now that we have new students and teachers.

  4. Since I am teaching in a new school, I have so many questions that need to be answered. I am not sure which will be my first.

  5. How do we address assessments with parents? What steps do we take when we feel a student needs more intensive insturction in reading or math?

  6. I love Julie’s question!!! Everyone’s for that matter. My question this year will be is there anything new or different we need to know about? We did get a new inside playground climber, so my guestion will also be what are the ground rules for this before we start using it? Oh, and are there any kids I need to be on the watch out for – any I should group or keep apart from their previous teacher.

  7. What will the administration do this year to support the teachers to become the very best they can be? And can we try a little harder to wean out the ones who have no place in a classroom?

  8. I’m like Paula and I am new to my school. Even though it is in the same district it is so different than my last school. I would love to know about the behavior expectations. Some schools are strict about noise in the halls etc.

  9. Since I am in a small school (320 students- K-10th) can we arrive at some standard and or universal conduct codes to be introduced by ALL teachers to their students so we are all on the same page?

  10. Since our state’s theme this year is “Do more with less”, what are the administrations’ interpretation of this?

  11. I am looking forward to getting more info on our contract since we have been without contract for 2 years and things have been supposedly settled over the summer.

  12. My question is about discipline. I am at a school that is new in town and I want to know how we are going to handle the little and big issues. Do I send the kids somewhere? Or does someone come and get them? Forms to fill out?

  13. I like to know about any changes that will be taking place and to find out the schedule. Getting the class list after the first meeting is also exciting!

  14. My question will be why the system decided to take away formal writing (how do we teach them about mechanics, conventions,…..etc) without having time in our schedule? But yet we have the state writing test!!!!????

  15. How many of our students will return to us after our summer’s devastating flood. I can’t wait to see and hug everyone of them!!

  16. My question would be about our new curriculum were starting this year. I would like to know how it will all work and how much more work it will be for me !

  17. What are the changes for the new year? What is my schedule? What forms do I need to fill out so I can get back to working in my classroom?

  18. After 25 years in prek I am now teaching kinder. It would seem to be a baby step compared to those who have made radical grade level changes in the name of funding cuts. To me, the difference is a lot more overwhelming than I anticipated. I have a laundry list!

  19. We have a new principal and vice principal this year. We all really love them!! However, a question I wish I would have known is what’s going to happen to our teachers assistants. They have always worked for us(cutting, laminating, copying, etc). However, now they no longer do anything for us. They are just assisting the teachers in the low reading and low math groups. I wish I would have know this at the beginning of the year so I could have been more ahead with all my copies and such.

  20. I’m with Mary! How is the administration going to support us throughout the year, not just the first month of school?

  21. I like to know as much as possible about the incoming students that I can find out. What are the expectations for the year.

  22. Where is all of the home visit paperwork? When are assessments due throughout the year? Our program has requirements of assessments from the state that are due three times a year.

  23. I’m the only teacher at my preschool and it’s privately run by a board of community members, so my biggest question is usually how are they supporting me this year (will they help me with fundraising, etc.). It makes a big difference to know if my current board has my back or not!

  24. I would like to know what our schedule is going to be
so I can start planning and getting the activites ready for the first week.

  25. There is a list… who is in my class, what is the schedule going to be like this year, are we on track with our new building for next year( seems it keeps getting pushed back). This year I also wanted to know how badly the budgets cuts affected the classrooms.

  26. I like to find out who my students are, if they have special needs or allergies. Like some other teacher, I am sure, we need to know the children’s names and personal info so that we can write them on cards for reading, writing and memorization practice – I like to be ready ahead of time.

  27. The first thing I like to know is my schedule. Until I know when my lunch and prep periods fall, I don’t feel like I can plan the rest of my day.

  28. This year it will be… who will be our interim superintendent? or Did we get a new refrigerator for the staff room? (I already know my class list, we get that at the end of the year, so we can sit w/ their current teachers and discuss needs!)

  29. I run a preschool out of my home. My friend, who does the same thing, and I always meet for coffee and swap ideas.. we are our own faculty members! 🙂

  30. Want to know my schedule and what extra duties I’ll be having! Also, important school dates and meeting the parents of my students.

  31. I would like to have more information about the math common core standards, what we have planned to deal with some serious discipline problems, and if our principal has actually ordered all the tech stuff that we decided he would order at the end of last year. (I’m afraid the money is going to go away!)
