Steps away from my work space is a magnificent little bowl. Occasionally the bottom of the bowl shines through, though it’s rare. On most days, the bowl houses a colorful collection of wrapped candies. Those of us who enjoy a piece of candy now and again make sure the bowl doesn’t sit empty. I chuckled yesterday when I overheard a colleague describe the candies as crucial to his day. Surely a deadline was closing in on him! I do, however, believe that it’s often the littlest of things that bring pleasure to otherwise hectic days.

Unexpected kindnesses given by me and extended by others.Watching an aide (in another room) attend to her custodial tasks so completely that her teacher doesn’t have to give those things a second thought… Being on the receiving end of organizational help…that list could go on and on.
I have a class of doodlers this year. I look forward daily for little pictures they leave me on scraps of paper!
An unexpected hug or I love you teacher makes my day.
