Clear the Skies!

pilotI love to win a prize—any prize! I love prizes and surprises, free stuff, and good deals. A few weeks ago, I won a prize that knocked my socks off! Here’s the back story. I participated in a 5K walk for a local charity. No, I didn’t win the walk. (Can you win a walk?) Anyway, there were door prizes galore. I didn’t win and I didn’t win and then I won! And it wasn’t just any door prize that I won. I won the grandmamma of door prizes—a free 45-minute flight lesson! I know I squealed when my name was called. My friends tell me it was a high-pitched, pig-like squeal. That’s about all I remember. My head was spinning, and my heart was thumping. Me, piloting a plane? That’s downright crazy!

Sometime this summer, I’ll share the details of my flying lesson with you. I’m nervous, I’m excited, I’m scared, I’m curious. I’m waiting for a cloudless day…

What is something you’ve done that you never imagined yourself doing?

Please share!

Diane

  1. My husband and I took on a teenage girl in foster care. We’ve had her for 2 years and love her with all of our hearts. Next month, we will submit the adoption papers to be her “forever family”!!

  2. Raemi how very moving and such wonderful news.
I dared to walk back in to a college classroom last summer and was scared to death because I discovered I was the oldest in the class. Even the professor was younger than me. But I aced the class and showed them what someone older can do.

  3. My daughter took me jet-skiing with dolphins while at Myrtle Beach last year. The dolphins were close enough to our jet ski to reach out and touch! My heart was racing as the wind and spray splashed my face, but the thrill of having this experience is priceless!

  4. I was a jewelry Vendor for the 1st time. I have made jewelry with my students and they suggested I sell some in a store. So the opportunity to sell came along and I did quite well. I was so excited, I shared a special treat with my students. I told them that they inspired me to reach a Goal I had wanted to try, but was afraid.
