Classroom Wall Giveaway!

Okay, I’m not giving away a classroom wall—I’m thinking you probably have enough of those to contend with already! But I do have a few questions about your classroom walls, and I have a free book to give away. So please keep reading!

When thinking about the displays you change the most, are they…

a) seasonal
b) student work
c) both a and b
d) none of the above

If a classroom-wall fairy godmother granted you one of the following, which would you choose?

e) a book of 100+ display ideas
f) three ready-to-use character cutouts
g) two ready-to-use titles with matching borders
h) a class set of wipe-off labels for displaying student work

If a certain blogger offered to put your name in a drawing for a free book from The Mailbox Books if you answered the above questions, which would you say?

i) Yahoo! Put my name in the drawing!
j) No, thanks. I don’t like free stuff.

Can’t wait to hear from you! Be sure to respond by the end of Wednesday, October 20, if you’d like to be entered in the drawing!

Here’s to a great week of teaching!
Diane

Congratulations to Brenda, our drawing winner!

  1. I definitely change displays with children’s work the most. Probably every other week.

My fairy godmother knows I have a hard time getting started with my classroom walls so she would bring me the titles and borders to help inspire me.

  3. The displays in the classroom are all student work, many of them seasonal… so I guess I change the student-made seasonal displays most often. Currently the walls are adorned with the woven spiderwebs from the Little Learners email– thanks guys!
A book of display ideas would be a wonderful gift! (Particularly if it came form the Mailbox books!)
And, oh yes, please put my name in the drawing! Yahoo!

  4. Yay! A multiple choice survey!!

I change A.) our seasonal boards the most.

I would love for a classroom wall fairy godmother to bring me A.) a book with 100+ wall display ideas.

  5. I choose c-both student and seasonal. Then e-a book of display ideas. Then i-put my name in the drawing.

And thanks for the idea- a class set of wipe-off labels for displaying student work. I have some wipe-off name labels and never thought to use them for student art work. Now I will.

  6. I have very limited wall space and only have one area with student work, that is a Hopes and Dreams board. I want to keep that up for a while. However, I would love some ideas about other things to hang up besides a few posters. It was easy to do displays when I taught kindergarten, but middle school is tough. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Pam in NH
    P.S. Love this blog!!!

  7. I have one large bulletin board I change monthly. Then I have three small ones that I change every other month with student work.
I love doing bulletin boards because it feels like a canvas that I get to decorate often and use my creativity.

  8. I use both a and b.
I would of course use the 100 ideas! and the labels for wipe off work would be neat as well. Teachers love anything free!

2– h) a class set of wipe-off labels for displaying student work– This would help me as I try to make things like this and laminate them… which never totally wipes off.

  15. 1) c — in fact, one of my kids asked me to take some beautiful kid-made sunflowers off our blank non-bulletin-baorded wall today; apparently they’ve been up “too long” for his liking!!

    2) e

    3) i — I LOVE Mailbox drawings!! I LOVE Mailbox books!!

  17. 1. My answer would be c. The displays I change the most are student work and theme related displays.

    3. i) yahoo, (please) put my name in the drawing.

    2. h) a class set of wipe off labels for displaying student work
    3. i) Yahoo!!! Put my name in the drawing! I love free stuff!

  19. I change seasonal and kids word, I would love any of those great gifts and I would love for you to put my name in for a free book.

  20. I love to change my walls! But first I would paint them. The bulletin boards are most often seasonal and are changed with the seasons. I like the idea of wipe off labels. Yes, please put my name in a drawing. So to recap, my answers were: a, h, i. Thank you.

  21. 1. Student Work changes the most; I don’t have any seasonal bulletin boards. (Small trailer)

    2. wipe-off labels, for sure.

    3. Who wouldn’t want to be in a drawing for freebies?

  22. 1. C
    2. E
    3. I
I love to display my student’s work, mostly seasonal art, on my classroom door. My classroom only has one big bulletin board which I use for calendar. I love mailbox!

  23. 1. c – I change seasonal and student work – and they usually go together – ie student work helps the seasonal display

    2. I really had a hard time with this one – 100+ ideas would be cool but seasonal wipe off labels might be cool too.

    3. please oh please put my name in the drawing! thanks!

  24. 1. (c) Both a and b
    2. (e) A book of ideas would rock! 🙂
    2. (i) That would be great, thanks for the opportunity!

  25. I change my boards seasonal and monthly combined.

I would love a book on display boards

Last but not least, I would love to have my name put in a drawing…

  26. 1. C I change both my seasonal and student work bulletin boards often. If I am in a room with a lot of bulletin boards, I do usually have 2 of them stay pretty much the same for the year (calendar, jobs, tooth chart, something like that).

    2. E I would pick the book with the 100 ideas; especially if part of the ideas involved reproducibles and/or a cute title for the bulletin board that I could just photocopy and slap up at the top. I HATE dealing with die cut letters for my bulletin board headers.

    3. I Enter me in the drawing please!

  27. I choose c-both student and seasonal. Then e-a book of display ideas. Then i-put my name in the drawing.

    Thank you for the opportunity.

  28. I teach 4-year-olds in a public school. The bulletin boards are not at eye level for my students. I keep ABC, number, shape, & color posters up on the bulletin boards all year round. However, I display student work at eye level, and I change theme-related material that I keep at student eye level.

  29. 1. a, seasonal display.
    2. e, always like to see new ideas, the patterns help with the ideas too!
    3. i, sign me up! I love the free stuff.

  30. First question- c-change them both 🙂
Second question- Dear Wall Fairy Godmother, I would love a class set of wipe off labels 🙂
Third question-yessssssssssssssssss please enter me in the drawing 🙂 I mean, YAHOO! please put my name in the drawing!!

  31. 1. Seasonal what is changed the most.

    2. If the classroom wall fairy godmother was to bring me something I would like the 3 character cutouts.

    3. YAHOO!!! Put me in the drawing!

    Thanks

  32. Ok, here goes.

    1. I change my seasonal stuff and student work often depending on the area. There are things I like to leave up longer, but most of the stuff goes with what we are learning as well as season.

    2. Oh man…do I have to choose?? I really like the book of ideas, but the wipe off labels are pretty awesome!

    3. Um of course..Yahoo!!! I would love to be entered in the drawing!!!

Hope this helps your survey!! Have a great week!

  33. I change both students’ work and seasonal as often as I have time and energy. I would love to have my name put in the drawing for the book of 100+ ideas!

I am like many of you! I do get tired of cutting out letters, even with the die-cut machine.

Who knew the Classroom Fairy’s first name was Diane?

  34. 1. B, but I also change out subject related material, too (ie. fractions, decimals, multiplication, division, etc.)
    2. H
    3. I

    Mailbox is AWESOME! Thanks! 🙂

  35. 1. I also change seasonal displays and student work often.
    2. I would enjoy the 100 idea book.
    3. I would appreciate you entering me in the drawing. Thank you.

  36. 1. I change seasonal the most!
    2. I would love a book of 100+ display ideas, I just don’t know what to do and I hate repeating myself over and over again and having to stare at it year after year.
3.Please put my name in the drawing!!!

  37. 1) both a and b
    2) (h) a class set of wipe-off labels for displaying student work
    3) (i) Yahoo! Put my name in the drawing!

  38. 1. c – Definitely both! Seasonal is great but student’s work says it all & something they should be proud of!

    2. h – All great but I think the wipe-off labels. Displays can often create themselves as student work is completed & sometimes it’s hard to have a set display design depending on space & what needs to be displayed…have to be flexible!

    3. i – yes! please put my name in the drawing!

  39. Student work. I like to keep things fresh and students love seeing the hard work they put into projects displayed for all to see.

A book of 100+ display ideas. The other options are great, too!

Yahoo! Put my name in the drawing! I would also do a happy dance around the classroom!

    Thanks!

  40. I change both often. So the room looks fresh.
I would love a book with 100+. I am always looking for new ideas.
YAHOO! Of course, I want in the drawing.

  41. 1. c – both student work and seasonal themes

    2. e – I run out of ideas (and time). I often enlist the help of room parents to help me with displays, so a book would be great! I could just hand it over and say, “Find something cute.”

    3. yes please – enter my name!

  42. My displays are seasonal and/or students’ work.

    I haven’t heard about these wipe-off labels, but that’s what I want – sounds like a real time-saver!

My students have a desk fairy and a cubby fairy; I’d love to have classroom wall fairy!

  43. 1.c. I do both – seasonal and student work. I try to change out student work weekly and I’ve started letting them pick the work that goes up on the wall.
2.h. I’m all about reusing as often as possible.
3.i. I’m a teacher aren’t I? Who would be crazy to turn down free stuff?

  44. This is my first time ‘entering and entry’! I teach First Grade….have for years and love it. the challenge this year with bulletin boards is our brand new “green” school….which is beautiful!!!!! BUT we are very limited to what we are allowed to put on our walls. Plus I have one bulletin board in my room…..so it is pick and choose what you would like to really “show off”……….. !!!!!!!!!!

  45. 1. C I change with season and students’ work.

    2. E I would love to have a book of new ideas.

    3. I I would love to be a winner.

  46. 1. I change student work and seasonal display often

    2. The 100 idea book would be nice
