A Quick Check-In

It’s time to do a seasonal check-in. Some of you have had your spring break. Others are still longing for it. Your students are either going stir-crazy from a long winter or they’re distracted by the onset of spring sports and warmer weather. (My apologies to any readers from the southern hemisphere who are enjoying autumn and the coming of winter.)

Many of you have now managed to put more than six months of teaching a Common Core curriculum in the books. How are you doing so far? What changes are you enjoying? Are there challenges that are frustrating you?

Have you enjoyed many “aha!” moments this year? Have you seen wonderful things happen in your school or classroom? Share your surprises and experiences with us.

We are all in this together, occupying a unique part of our society’s landscape and working hard to turn young people into the generations that will do great things in the not-too-distant future. Tell us how you’re doing.

PS – By the way, if you’re still looking for interesting Common Core activities, I highly recommend the free resources available monthly to IFAW Animal Ambassadors. Your students will love learning about animals! It’s simple to join, and when you do, you’ll be entered to win $1,000 in classroom cash. Learn more here.
