When the pumpkin spice train pulled into the station this year it was carrying some rather unusual cargo. I like the flavor of pumpkin spice and it’s sweet aroma. Maybe even better, I like that pumpkin spice signals the arrival of one of my favorite seasons. However when I learned that a limited edition of pumpkin spice Spam—the edible kind—had been introduced, I gagged a little. I also did a little research. Here are just a few of the more unique pumpkin spice offerings: Cheerios, popcorn, almonds and pecans, honey, syrup, cookie spread, protein bars, cat treats, and pumpkin spice pooch cake. Have we gone too far? I’ll let you be the judge. And while I can’t offer you any pumpkin spice teaching resources from The Mailbox, I can share with you a fun pumpkin-themed action chant that’s sure to spice up your day. And course you can find a truckload of pumpkin-themed reading, math, science, writing, and craft ideas at themailbox.com.
I’d love to learn your pumpkin spice thoughts. Please share!
Diane
