Whatcha Think?

In one of my recent posts, I talked about my visit to the eye doc. I forgot to mention that it was Red Day at the clinic. All the docs, assistants, and office help wore red polos. I thought everyone looked sharp, and it also helped to know at a glance who was there to help.

I guess it might be a pain in the neck to remember what color to wear each day of the week. And perhaps wearing the same thing day after day would get boring. On the flip side, I think I’d like always having an answer to that dreaded question of “What am I going to wear today?”

Whatcha think? Would you be upset, elated, or somewhere in between if your school administrator proposed a fixed dress code?

On the fence,

Diane

  1. lol! i’d LOVE it! when i was a preschool teacher, my co-teacher and i wore scrubs and it was GREAT! now, as a homeschool teacher, i made t-shirts with our “homeschool logo” on it and wore those – so nice to not have to think about it each day!

  2. I would love to have a dress policy so I wouldn’t have to think about what to wear. I was sad when my school tee shirts got worn out. I loved wearing them and saved the dress up clothes for picture day, special guests etc.

  3. I have been saying this for a few years now! I would love it at my school!

I was wondering if people who win prizes in the learning magazine stuff where can see who the lucky people are? Thanks~

  4. Where I work there is a dress code…to a certain extent. At the beginning of the school year we are allowed to choose a color and design for our Monday shirt. Tuesday and Thursday is a dress up day…unless waived by our director. Wednesday is our school color polo t shirt with khaki pants, and on Friday it’s our 50th Anniversary T-shirt with black jeans. It works great and everyone knows what to wear on Mon., Wed., and Friday.

  5. I would be very disappointed if we had a fixed dress code. I like wearing different colors/clothes to fit the occasion of what I’m doing or the way I’m feeling when I get up in the morning.

  6. I liked and disliked having a uniform or dress code. We had to wear polo shirts in any color and tan or blue pants- Friday was school shirt and jeans- tennis shoes everyday. Now we have to wear skirts on Wednesday for chapel- try crawling around with prek students in a skirt. I like the idea of the guess work being taken out but I also like the idea of being able to express myself. Now our dress code is skirt on Wednesday, school shirt and jeans on Friday, and MTTh nice dress no jeans. The problem is some teachers show up looking like it is cleaning day and others like it is a semi formal dance. We need a happy between.

  7. Our students have a uniform and really I think staff should too. For me it would make life easier not to have to think about what to wear to work.
I teach kinder now and spend alot of time on the floor so skirts are out until I move back to the upper grades.
