  1. All literacy resources are great, because i love reading. The Cat in the Hat always tops it for me, though! Winning $600 worth of books would be great, too.

  2. I just finished entering the Cat in the Hat contest for Read Across America. Thanks for the reminder about Read across America day. I was working on lesson plans.

  3. I ADORE anything Jan Brett, and since we live in snowy Michigan we have lots of opportunities to read and act out books like The Mitten. 🙂 I’m really excited about the Cat in the Hat DVDs though too.

  4. I love the Cat and the Hat series! The children love to guess the next rhyming word and the stories are always so entertaining.

  5. I like the “Who Was?” sweepstakes. With my 3rd graders, I struggle to get them to read nonfiction. I’ve started to slowly buy some nonfiction through Scholastic. I like the “Who Was” series … it’s informative and written at their level – without “dummying” it down.

  6. I am excited about all the literacy activties! I entered to win all the contests and I am going to publish with Studentreasures next month. I would love to meet Jan Brett. She is definitely one of my favorite authors. My class just finished a study of gingerbread that included a couple of her stories! We are planning Read Across America now. I can’t wait!

  7. I like all of these freebies, but I would love to win the Who Was? series of books. We are really stressing cross-curricular reading next year, and this would fit perfectly with my social studies and literature units. For this same reason, I think the WorldScapes series would also be excellent!

  8. My two favorite freebies were the Who was? and the Read Acrtoss America with the Dr. Suess books. Thanks for the list of freebies!

  9. My students had the best time reading about Harriet Tubman and creating projects related to her life. Would love to have more copies of your books for my classroom.
