Wednesday, March 7 is National Cereal Day. Why should we celebrate this flakey breakfast food? Because it’s the best edible manipulative ever. Cereal is a fun, and reasonably nutritious, way to teach counting, adding sets, and a variety of other skills. I love these cereal ideas. My favorite activity is using Lucky Charms to make a graph of how many different marshmello shapes are in a box of cereal. The children love the fact they get to there math acitivity.
