I’m reading the Little House books with my second grader. It is a magical experience to revisit those stories together!
A lifelong South Dakotan, the Little House books are especially loved! If you ever get to South Dakota be sure to visit the real Little Town on the Prairie!! Each summer they present an outdoor pageant based on the Little Town on the Prairie three weekends in July. This year, “Nellie” and “Almanzo” from the TV series are honored guests!! There are tours and activities all summer long. 🙂

My book list this summer is a revisit to some of my most beloved books…Gone With the Wind, The Thornbirds, Christy, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, Moon Over Manifest, The Wall, The Hiding Place, The Last Bridge, and I Remeber Mama. 🙂
I just read Moon Over Manifest for the first time a few months back. Loved it.
Oh, I so do, too!! What a wonderful, wonderful book! It just “spoke” to me on so many levels. Also, it is such a great read-aloud for intermediate grade kids. Love, love, love it!! 🙂
I’m hoping to read more books from the Children’s Choice Lists in between running a summer reading program at my public library.

I’m looking forward to reading medical books by Atul Gawande as well as other physicians who have written about becoming doctors, their medical experiences, etc.
I also plan to check out new children’s books so that I’m set for the upcoming school year.
I plan on reading A Long Walk to Water and a few professional books. Other than that, anything that looks good. 🙂

Book Adventures looks pretty interesting
I’ve started with Raymie Nightingale because she has the same name as me and that never happens. It’s kind of a Judy Bloom type of book. I brought home 2 professional books and I have about 8 books on my iPad I’m hoping to get through.
We are going to go through the Chronicles of Narnia Series, or at least as many of the books as we can get through!
I am reading the nominations for the 2018 Nene Award, one of which will be selected by children in Hawaii as their favorite book.
I’m excited to read all the mystery books I’ve been hoarding all year to read over the summer. I’m especially excited about the new Carola Dunn mystery.

I am enjoying Book Scavenger the Unbreakable Code now. I plan to read as many other books I can finish. I like mystery, historical fiction, and romance.
I am happy to grab any fast-paced book that I can sit with and read by the pool or at the beach! I look forward to using my local library over the summer break with my daughters.

I just read The One Memory Of Flora Banks, next read is Into The Waters by Paula Hawkins. For my students I am recommending Fast Freddy, Franny K. Stein, Magic Tree House books that we didn’t get to, and of course Captain Underpants because of the movie????⭐️

I am reading a child called it, the lost boy, and a man named Dave. All are written by Dave Pelzer and revel the horrible childhood he had. I would recommend these to all teachers. In addition I am beginning a book study, unsure of the books at the moment.
I’m also reading The Shack. I’ve enjoyed getting good ideas from what others are reading too! My kids are reading Junie B Jones and The Magic Tree House series.

My son is reading anything that has to do with Pokémon. He just can’t get enough. I’m reading a variety of books including the new series by Linda Lael Miller.
As much as we can! For myself, anything I can get my hands on, including some new titles from my favorite authors. I currently have books by Nora Roberts, Nancy Thayer and Gilly McMillan waiting for me. For my students, I would like to find some new titles that teach kindness and working together. For my children, the Erin Hunter Warrior series and some good teen girl stories.
I will be catching up…. I have a pile on my shelf that I have been stashing all year!
I will introducing the Harry Potter Series to my little ones. Great excuse to read them again!!
My CDA coursework books, What if Everybody Understood Child Development, and all the new books I have ordered for my class…so I can make up silly voices ahead of time!
I am busy this summer reading graduate level texts and working on my master’s. Inbetween, once I end up back in Arizona, I will be finishing the Harry Potter series and romance novels.
I have a very large To Be Read Pile. I am attempting to read a book a day. I am starting with a book about World War II.
I’ll be reading a book that my 93 years young father just completed about his 67 years of marriage to my mother who is 85. They called it, “Marriage: An Adventure of Faith.” I am the youngest of ten children – seven boys and three girls. I can’t wait for it to arrive in the mail!
