Okay teachers, I have a challenge for you! I want to know how often you laugh during the school day. I’m serious. This is important stuff! Did you know that laughter lowers stress hormones, improves mood, promotes group bonding, and prevents heart disease? And these are only a few benefits of laughter. Very cool info, if you ask me.
So what’s your laugh tally for today?
Smiles,
Diane
Thanks for this information! Lately we don’t laugh enough – I am going to bring laughter back to my classroom today! Thank you! 🙂
Good Morning,
Usually at least one good laugh a day at least. I am always game to laugh at myself and my students are learning that it is okay to laugh at themselves as well.

I would agree we need to laugh–not easy some days like today. Most days I get at least one good laugh. Kids like to tell jokes if you let them–some are a pretty good laugh.
My preschoolers always make me laugh. I actually laugh at the sound of one of the kids laughes. Its a hoot. Life is way to short not to laugh.
I love to laugh! We laugh a lot in my room. My kids learned early on not to take things to serious in my room that we are relaxed and laid back. We are there to learn but mainly to have fun and hopefuly learn while we are having fun!:)
I love sunny, smiley days!
Kids are laughter magnets. Today a 3rd grader went down the slide and her long hair stood straight up from static electricity. Not only was it funny, but we also had a mini science lesson.
We laugh all the time in second grade…not at someone, but with them. It lightens the mood and lets the kids know it’s okay to make a mistake. Everyone does, even the teacher!
Today I had a private laugh when I noticed that one of the kiddos in the lunchroom had taken the “crust” (?) off a Smucker’s “Uncrustable” PB&J!
I usually laugh at myself and I try to get the children to laugh too. Sometimes I’ll put on big, fake reading glasses to read a story. What makes me laugh the most is the funny things children say. It makes my day and keeps me going.
Always filled with joy at the little peoples comments. We were talking about the chrysalis and one little girl piped up “Yeah, it’s just like a sleeping bag!”
Many times my preschoolers make me laugh by the cute things they say or just listening to their play during free choice. Just yesterday I laughed when I over heard one girl pretend to call another girl on the phone. She said, “You better come pick up this baby! It’s in the middle of the road and I know it’s yours.” The other girl said, “I will soon.” The first girl exclaimed, “You better hurry up before I take it to the dump.” To me the conversation made no sense whatsoever, but apparently to them it did! 🙂
I laugh every day with my pre grade children, aged 4. The funny things they say are so sweet. Like for example when the power was playing up and the lights were going on and off, one boy came up to me and said,” I think they need to change the batteries ” I could write volumes of the funny things the kids say and do. I just love my job.
