Harriet, Susan, Elizbeth, & Friends: Win This Book During Women’s History Month

You’ve heard of Harriet Tubman, Susan B. Anthony, and Elizabeth Cady Stanton; now it’s time to meet Jovita Idar, Inez Milholland, Mary Church Terrell, and others who helped win the right to vote for American women.

Learn about all of these women in Bold & Brave: Ten Heroes Who Won Women the Right to Vote. For your chance to win the book, share a few words about what your class will be doing during Women’s History month. (Update: Congratulations to Alma, our lucky winner!) Submit your comment by Wednesday, March 27, to be included in the random drawing. One lucky teacher will win!

  1. We are going to talk about the women’s rights movement and read about some of the key women who helped with the movement.

  2. Women’s history is of perseverance towards God’s kingdom. We can celebrate this month in UNITY because we are one in CHRIST!

  3. We are going to read some articles about women winning the right to vote and the 19th amendment that made national, universal women’s suffrage possible.

  4. Honestly, our school has nothing planned. We have been focused on Dr. Seuss, practice STAAR testing, Texas Public Schools Week, & spring break.

  5. My school doesn’t do anything for Womens’s History Month. I did not even know about it. Thank you!! I will read stories about women’s achievements from my favorite book, “Women in Science”.

  6. We are discussing lesser known ladies of history, and one part of this is visiting a nursing home and listening to living history makers.
