Happy Accidents: Win the New Book “Bob Ross and Peapod the Squirrel”

Readers get to jump into a Bob Ross painting with the new book Bob Ross and Peapod the Squirrel (Running Press) by Robb Pearlman. Peapod the Squirrel needs a new home, so painter Bob Ross creates one that’s just right. Congratulations to our lucky winner Mindy Haffner!

For your chance to win this book in our random drawing, let us know what painting you’d like to jump into. Would you like to

  • peer over the Mona Lisa’s shoulder
  • float among Monet’s water lilies
  • walk in the village in Van Gogh’s Starry Night
  • sit at the diner counter in Edward Hopper’s Nighthawks?

If those don’t suit your style, feel free to suggest one that does. Submit a comment to this blog by Thursday, October 3, to be included in that drawing. Good luck!

We think this week’s collection of freebies is a bit of a masterpiece; take a look!

I think I might be tempted to jump into a Bob Ross painting. Dangling my feet in the creek by the old water wheel sounds lovely.

  1. I would love to be in a boat, floating along the Seine River …. watching Renior as he creates the masterpiece La Grenouillère.

  2. I would love to walk in the village in Van Gogh’s Starry Night. It seems energetic and yet peaceful. I love looking at the stars!

  3. Honestly, I would love to go into the drawing of a 4 or 5 year old child. The creativity they add to their artwork would be fascinating to experience live!

If that answer doesn’t work, I think the Persistence of Memory by Salvador Dali. A unique look into a fantasy world.

  4. I would like to jump into Leonardo Da Vinci’s “The Last Supper” so that I can meet and dine with Jesus Christ and His apostles.

  5. I would love to float among Monet’s water lilies. It’s become a favorite since my daughter created a mixed-media artwork of that painting.

  6. I, too, would want to jump into Starry Night. It’s sure to be set in a village in the south of France where Van Gogh spent a good deal of his life. I love it there and would stay for a vacation!

  7. I’d like to sit at the diner counter in Edward Hopper’s Nighthawks. it looks really interesting and who doesn’t like food?!

  8. While Monet is one of my favorite painters, I think I’d like to walk over the bridge in one of his Garden at Giverny paintings and take a look at the water lilies from there. ????
