During October, I tend to focus my blogs on all things fall and Halloween because of my love for this colorful season. However, this means I’m terribly remiss in covering the other big attraction this month: National Pizza Month. If there’s anything I love as much as Halloween, it’s pizza. Pizza—along with cheeseburgers—are at the very top of the list of foods I regularly crave. Everyone has their own version of the perfect pizza and mine includes the following:
- Pepperoni
- Italian sausage
- Mushrooms
- Ridiculous amounts of green olives
What are your perfect pizza toppings? (If you include pineapple, we’ll just have to agree to disagree.)
Check out this programmable pizza lotto board! I’ve filled out the spaces with sight words, but you can type letters, numbers, and math problems as well. To program the page, click on the print button and type desired information in the spaces. Then finish printing. Give students a copy of the board. Then call out a word, letter, number, or math problem answer. Students color the appropriate slice. Continue until all the slices are colored.
P.S. NEW Leaves have dropped this fall! Crabtree Leaves first chapter books help build literacy and motivate readers to finish longer stories.
