There have been times during my student career—times that really stand out—when I didn’t understand what was going on in the classroom: in third grade, when I was put in a high math group; in a European literature class in high school, when discussing Crime and Punishment; in that 8 AM philosophy class my freshman year in college. During each of these instances, I felt like the words “Kim hasn’t a clue” were stamped on my forehead. Of course, my teacher had no idea at the time that I didn’t have a clue.
That’s why I’m so impressed with this neat classroom poster I saw on Pinterest! What a great way to get immediate feedback! Simply say, “Fist to five check” and have students hold up a hand to show their understanding. I bet almost everyone would have shown a fist in that philosophy class!

I just saw this on Pinterest today! Are you stalking me? LOL!
WOW!!! I am excited to start implementing in the classroom. I will update on the progress after one week of using the formative assessment procedure.
