Hang on, I’ve got to step up onto my soapbox. There we go! Now I understand that some folks prefer to categorize this coming Sunday, Valentine’s Day, as a “Hallmark holiday.” In other words, it’s a holiday that is strictly for commercial profit. To me, Valentine’s Day is a celebration of love and kindness. It’s a time to stop and let others know that they are loved and appreciated. These expressions of love and kindness can include cards, balloons, flowers, and more. Yet there are certainly plentiful gestures of kindness and love that are free to give; a thoughtful text message, an unexpected phone call, or simply a big ole hug.
Whatever your circumstances, I encourage you to make Valentine’s Day special for someone. And of course, I hope others make your Valentine’s Day special as well.
If you could do anything you wanted to do this Valentine’s Day, what would you choose?
Stepping off my soapbox,
Diane

I am going to be doing what I want to do this valentines day spending it with my family. There is nothing better to me than spending my time with my family.
My husband and I took a walk along the beach at the local park, and when we came home, we watched figure skating on t.v. that I had recorded yesterday. Of course, I would have rather actually been figure skating than just watching. My brother texted me a picture of a beautiful frozen lake in mid-Missouri. I was so jealous! 😉
Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone! 🙂
