I see that some of you have snow up to your armpits and are about to have freezing temperatures on top of it! (And I suspect that a lot of you are enjoying a snow day today.) Personally, I would welcome a small amount of snow down here in North Carolina, so feel free to send a bit my way to go with our chilly weather. I hope you’re keeping warm and bundling up appropriately. Here’s a song for your youngsters that goes perfectly with our current wild winter weather. Enjoy!
(sung to the tune of “She’ll Be Comin’ Round the Mountain”)
I’ll be wearing [two warm mittens] when it snows. (clap, clap)
I’ll be wearing [two warm mittens] when it snows. (clap, clap)
I’ll be wearing [two warm mittens].
I’ll be wearing [two warm mittens].
I’ll be wearing [two warm mittens] when it snows. (clap, clap)
Continue with the following: two warm boots (stomp), one warm hat (pat), one warm jacket (zip)
What’s the weather like in your area? Are you ready for spring?
Love the song. I will use it when we get to return. I teach 2 half day kindergarten sessions, so I actually like having cold and wet weather so we have indoor recess because it gives me more time to observe my kiddos using the concepts that they have been taught. Spring can wait a couple of months. I just don’t like too many snow days.
Love the song. We are having a snow day here in Michigan and another day off tomorrow due to the wind chil factor. Its freezing and oh I am so ready for Spring.
Thanks for the song! We had a cold day today with wind chills to -60 below. Small warm up tomorrow!
We are actually in the low-to-mid 30s here in South Texas. The students return from break tomorrow, and we will definitely be doing some winter weather activities. (No snow for us, however.)
Great song! Thanks for sharing! I teach VPK in so Florida. We do not see snow either! Stay warm. 🙂
I love your song! Western Washington winters are normally mid-30s with frequent drizzle, mist, or even rain. Two weeks of low 20s temps left my kindergartners as walking popsicles. This is a great song to remind them to bring mittens to school.
