In our office we have a mix of sports fans. Some are extreme, some are so-so, and others are totally oblivious. Those who love sports talk enthusiastically about wins, losses, points, conversions, punt returns, etc. Those of us who fall into the so-so and oblivious groups nod politely, try our best to look engaged, and then suddenly remember a meeting we must prepare for.
So when Karen—an extreme football fan—proposed that Kim and I do a “mock draft” on the blog, I was beyond confused. What in the heck was she talking about? I knew players got drafted, but what does that have to do with The Mailbox Blog? (I tried to look engaged.) Then she explained that the mock draft would be for a Dream Team of Children’s Picture Books. My ears perked right up!
Next step? We took an informal poll of The Mailbox editors to discover their favorite picture books. We also agreed that our dream team would include six books. We tossed a coin (very official) for first pick, and I won! Wowzo, this was difficult. I picked and then Kim picked. The first two books on our Dream Team of Children’s Picture Books are Click, Clack, Moo: Cows That Type and A Visitor for Bear.
Okay, on Kim’s Monday blog she will announce two more book drafts. Here’s where we need your help!
If you were making a draft pick, what book
from the list below would you pick?
Sooooooo eager to hear from you!
Diane
