June is Great Outdoors Month! This is fairly appropriate, since a lot of us go outside in June before it gets to be blisteringly hot. As a child, running around outdoors was one of my favorite activities. I loved nature, and every tree, rock, and twig seemed magical to me. That’s why I loved to see this article about a kindergarten teacher who has class outside in the woods one day every week. One whole day, rain or shine! What an awesome learning experience for her kindergartners.
How frequently are you able to take your students outside? And when you do go outside, are your students able to explore?
We go out weather permitting daily. Sadly the insurance company will not cover us if we go off the playground. How I wish
We don’t get to go outside unless the P.E. coach takes the students out. 🙁
