This Friday, June 10, is Maurice Sendak’s birthday. He’s of course known best for his picture book, Where the Wild Things Are, and other books for children. But his experiences were wide and varied, including designing sets and costumes for both ballets and operas, producing animated specials for children, and advising the Children’s Television Workshop during the time they were working on Sesame Street. Sendak died in 2012 at the age of 84. We’re lucky to have read the fantastical works from this creative mind.
To celebrate his birthday, here’s an adorable activity that focuses on the beginning, middle, and end of his most well-known book. Enjoy!
