My birthday is next week—and so is the birthday of a great fantasy author, Eoin Colfer. He’s the creator of the Artemis Fowl series, of which I’m a fan. For the last few years, I’ve been into fantasy and science fiction books, as well as books about arctic travel, shipwrecks, and World War II. Yeah, I have some eclectic interests, and I bet your students do too!
It’s been proven that reading for enjoyment helps create lifelong learners. How do you discover a student’s interests and match readers to books in your classroom? I would love to see your ideas.
