I know you love patterns…and you also love center activities! I stumbled upon these cute little Easter basket patterns on our website and knew they would be perfect for some easy-prep ideas. Check out my activities below, and then tell me what you would do with these patterns.
Idea #1: Have a child color a cutout copy of the pattern as desired. Next, have her fingerpaint a sheet of paper with different shades of green. Have her make colorful fingerprint flowers in the paint. Then prompt her to glue the prepared cutout to the page so it resembles an Easter basket in a flowery meadow. Idea #2: Make a supply of the pattern page onto colored copy paper and then use a paper cutter to chop the pages into individual Easter basket cards. Write the letters of a different three-letter high-frequency word on the eggs as shown and place the cards in a container. Put the container at a center along with writing paper (click here for the spring paper shown in the image to the left). A child pulls a specific number of cards from the basket. She chooses a card and then writes the letters on her paper and reads the resulting high-frequency word. She continues with each remaining card. High-frequency words
Idea #3: Make a supply of the pattern page onto colored copy paper and then use a paper cutter to chop the pages into individual Easter basket cards. Write three numbers on the eggs on each card and then place them in a container. Put the container at a center along with writing paper. A child pulls a card, writes the numbers on her paper to form an addition problem, adds the numbers, and then writes the answer. She continues with other cards. Adding with 3 addends
