Earlier this week, I darted into a drive-through to pick up a quick meal. Honestly, I was trying to accomplish too much in too little time, so I wasn’t entirely focused when I placed my order. This partially explains my confusion when I was asked if I would like a Cutie. I was certain I had misheard the question, so I kindly responded, “Excuse me, I didn’t quite catch that.” The question was repeated. “Would you like a Cutie?” This time, I repeated back what I thought I had heard. My response was confirmed, so I replied, “Well, heck ya: five feet, ten; employed; thoughtful; and loves animals.” This resulted in a bunch of static and the infamous request of “Please pull forward.”
Clearly, my prior knowledge was lacking. I had no idea that, at this fast food restaurant, a clementine (referred to by the brand name “Cutie”) is a side or snack option. I now know this. Boy, do I know this!
Do your school lunches include Cuties—the small orange ones? :+)
Have a great weekend!

P.S. If you haven’t yet visited TheMailbox.com/eggs you’d better scramble on over! Monday, December 15, 2014 is the deadline to enter to win one of three iPad minis. You’ll also find free ready-to-use resources to teach about modern egg farming, nutrition, and more. You won’t want to miss out on this “egg-ceptional” opportunity!
Whoa, that’s weird! My school cafeteria served the small tangerines for dessert yesterday. The kids were so excited that they were able to peel them without any help.
We have had them for a long time now. And they are one of my favorite go to snacks
