Wonder of Wonders: Two Books to Win This Week

Have you ever noticed that sometimes a word just keeps popping up? My word this week has been “wonder”. I have two great books to give away that both have “wonder” in the title. And they’re both, well, wonderful!

Check out Everywhere, Wonder by Matthew Swanson and Out of Wonder by Kwame Alexander. Want a chance to win them? Submit a comment to this blog by 11:59 pm EDT on May 2, 2017, and let us know which of this week’s freebies fill you with wonder. One lucky teacher will be randomly selected to win!

Here are some of the other wonders we’ve cooked up for you this week:

Finish your year on a high note with the freebies at ABCmouse. More than 8,500 activities (free to teachers!) cover preschool, PreK, kindergarten, grade 1, and now grade 2. Visit ABCmouse.com/teachers to sign up.

Magical reading adventures await with the new sweepstakes from Disney Books and The Mailbox. Download free teacher guides, mini-books, mini-posters, and more, plus enter to win 30 copies of this month’s featured book for your grade. It’s all here: TheMailbox.com/disneybooks.

Have you heard about Name Picker Ninja? This free tool makes calling on students or assigning class jobs quick, easy, and fun. Take a look at namepickerninja.com.

I wonder how many more times the word “wonder” will pop up. Let’s see!

Filled with wonder,

Karen

  1. I wonder how my students will do over the summer. It is sad to see them make such gains and then take 3 months off. I know several will not pick up a book or do any math. How sad.

  2. Well, for now the Wonder team is tops in my book. I teach EL students in Title and these books would be a great deal of help with the visualizing part of reading for students.

  3. My suggestion for Ninja Name Picker would be to always click on the home page first–otherwise the kids don’t get to see the Ninja kick out a new name. I love the wonderful collage illustrations in the Everywhere Wonder and Out of Wonder–they will be great to tie into 1st Grade Poetry and Art standards.
